Progressive Rail is strategically located directly at the heart of one of the nation’s most prosperous centers of commerce…Minnesota! Headquartered in Lakeville, we are just minutes from both downtown Minneapolis and St. Paul, along with the international airport. Lakeville is also home to one of Minnesota’s largest industrial parks from which our rail network emanates south to the historic town of Northfield, which is the location of the great Jesse James Gang bank robbery. From Northfield Progressive Rail goes east to Randolph and Cannon Falls Minnesota, and south on to Faribault, Minnesota.
Eagan and Rosemount, Minnesota bookend a former piece of the Milwaukee Roads I & M district- one of Minnesota’s very first section of a Railroad built across the prairie.
Other operations include a 9.1 mile branch line from Auto Club Junction to Minneapolis Minnesota. This line is also known as our “Dan Patch Line” to give a nod to the historic significance of the original builder and owner, Colonel Savage, who at the time built the rail line to his horse stables housing the world famous Dan Patch race horse!
Finally Progressive Rail’s Wisconsin Northern Division operates from Chippewa Falls Wisconsin to Rice Lake and Barron Wisconsin. In all Progressive Rail operates 156 miles of track serving 16 communities that are the homes to over 125 industries that are very much a part of a 250,000 mile national rail system. How cool is that!
